Carl Cade, Regional Vice President Southern California. With a career that has continuously spanned Education Reform, Real Estate Development and Finance, Carl has spent a decade leading initiatives which prove that with the right resources all children can learn.

As Sr. Deputy to LA School Board President Caprice Young, Carl led the construction of over 35 district schools. He went on to found and run the lending practice of the California Charter School Association financing the dramatic growth of dozens of high quality charters across the state. More recently he has served actively on the board of Larchmont Schools, which currently operates four high achieving racially and economically diverse campuses.
 

He holds an AB in Urban Studies and Political Science from Vassar College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Jason Bohle is a Vice President of Development and Acquisitions at Combined Properties. As a project manager, he focuses on the day-to-day execution of some of Combined’s retail and mixed-use projects in Los Angeles and Washington DC. Mr. Bohle started his real estate career with J.P. Morgan & Company in New York where he worked on a variety of M&A transactions including a $1 billion merger between two office REITs, private equity raising for a number of Latin American Real Estate Companies, and the sale of part of a Brazilian shopping mall company. In 2001, Mr. Bohle left to Prudential Real Estate Investors where he advised Latin American real estate companies on launching growth strategies. In this capacity, he worked with a large Mexican homebuilder to develop retail properties within its residential developments. He also helped a Brazilian homebuilder develop an affordable housing platform.? Mr. Bohle graduated with a B.A. from Northwestern University with honors in Economics and an MBA from Harvard Business School. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, Kitesurfing, traveling, and cooking.  He also is a volunteer with Coprodeli, a Peruvian community building organization, and speaks English, Spanish and Portuguese.

Jim founded James Suhr & Associates, LLC in 2002 to focus on urban infill commercial and multifamily developments in Southern California. His twenty-plus years in the real estate industry encompass experience in acquisitions, entitlements, development, and asset management of a wide range of land uses. Jim has been involved in the development of a number of transit-oriented mixed-use infill projects in association with
Urban Partners LLC, including the Expo Light Rail site in Culver City, CA; Wilshire Vermont Station in the Koreatown section of Los Angeles, a joint development with MTA of 450 apartments and ground-level retail;
and Burien Town Square in Burien, WA, redeveloping a 10.5 acre site with public, retail and residential uses surrounding a new civic park. Prior to forming his company, Jim served as Director of Land Acquisitions for
BRE Properties in Southern California, and also held positions with Newhall Land & Farming, Walt Disney Company, Warner Bros., and with The Ratkovich Company. Jim received an MBA from UCLA's Anderson School of Management and a MA Urban Planning from UCLA's School of Architecture and Urban Planning.  

 

Jody Feerst Litvak

Jody Feerst Litvak currently serves as Regional Community Relations Manager for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) where she is responsible for representing Metro's interests in

the Central and Westside area, stretching from downtown Los Angeles to the ocean. Among her several responsibilities is leading the outreach efforts for the "Westside Extension Transit Corridor Study" that is

evaluating a possible extension of the Metro Rail subway.  She has been directly involved in outreach and communication efforts surrounding the development of the 2008 Long Range Transportation Plan and efforts to

place a transportation sales tax on the ballot. She originally joined one of the Metro's predecessor agencies, the Los Angeles County Transportation Commission, in 1990. She has previously worked as the Government & Public Affairs Manager for the Congestion Management Program, eventually serving as the overall Manager of that program, and worked as the agency's Manager of Government Relations. Ms. Litvak previously worked for the California State Senate, US House of Representatives, Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee, GTE-California (now Verizon), the City of West Hollywood, and campaigns for candidates and initiatives. In these positions, she has assessed, planned and managed a wide range of projects with complex and political and community concerns.

Ms. Litvak holds a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master's Degree in Public Policy from Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government. She lives in the Westwood area of Los Angeles with her husband and two children.

Rebecca Martinez

As an Associate Principal with Cuningham Group Architecture and serving as the firm's Director of Marketing, Rebecca is responsible for maintaining the the firm's long-term client relationships, developing new business opportunities and establishing teaming strategies with consultants, owner's representatives and other related firms. She uses her extensive experience to provide overall leadership for the marketing efforts of the firm and works closely with the principals of each of Cuningham Group"s studios to implement the company's marketing goals. Rebecca helps to establish corporate strategy in developing the urban, entertainment, retail, and mixed-use market sectors, focusing on work with developers, public agencies, and private corporations to design and build successful projects. Rebecca also serves as Chair for the ULI LA Urban Plan Program.

Cesar Diaz

Cesar Diaz is currently pursuing a masters of arts in urban planning at the University of California, Los Angeles. His studies are focused around economic development of the Cleantech industry, revitalization of historic business districts and green building. Prior to attending graduate school, Cesar worked for Cerrell Associates, Inc ., a Los Angeles based public relations firm that specializes in public affairs, land use and advocacy services to a broad base of clients. As an account executive he specialized in community relations and issue advocacy for several large land-use projects throughout Southern California. Before Cerrell Associates, he worked for the Los Angeles Dodgers. At the Dodgers, he worked in the ticketing operations managing season ticket accounts and promotions.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Cesar graduated from the University of California Los Angeles in 2003 with a bachelors of arts in political science. Valuing the importance of civic engagement and community leadership, he was selected and graduated from the 2008 Leadership LA Fellowship program. He currently serves on the boards of Proyecto Pastoral Emerging Leaders and the Delta Chi Housing Corporation.

Patti Harburg-Petrich, P.E., LEED AP BD+C, is an Associate in the Los Angeles office for Walter P. Moore and Associates, Inc.  She performed structural design and seismic evaluation/retrofit for a variety of buildings incorporating a wide range of structural materials and seismic resisting systems.  She has experience in many building types, including healthcare, sports, hospitality, industrial, commercial, and multi-family residential.  Ms. Harburg-Petrich is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of California and a LEED Accredited Professional.
